Thanks so much for your prayers as I have been raising support and for my travel to Jax!
We arrived safely here on June first and began getting to know our team and all of the students here (there are 170 of us - lots of names to learn!!). There are 3 girls on my team, Lynda, Abby, and myself as well as my team leader Jenny. These first few days have focused on getting familiar with the program and how it will run and job searching. We have also done a lot of team bonding like going to the beach (my first time since I was two!), hanging out at a local frozen custard place, and writing a lot of verses on construction paper to hang around our room.
I wanted to let you all know that I was blessed to find a job on Tuesday at a 5 diamond resort here called Ponte Vidra. I will be working in the laundry department, which I am really excited about. It will be totally different from anything else I have ever done, but I think it will be a great blessing. I start on monday and I will be working with another girl from the program, Jordan. If you could be praying that it goes well and that we will be able to be strong witnesses in all we do, we would really appreciate it.
Yesterday I spent most of the day helping some of the team leaders and member in their job searching by praying over every business that they walked into and just by encouraging them in their job hunting. I believe that most of the team members have found jobs, but if you could be praying for those who don't, and especially the team leaders since they have a hard time finding jobs that fit into their schedule (they can only work 20 hours a week, and they have to be done by noon).
Tomorrow will be our first real day of training since we are now done with orientation. We will be spending a good deal of the day on Jacksonville beach for evangelism training. In the afternoon we will be sharing the bridge illustration with people we meet on the beach. It is making everyone at least a little nervous, so please pray for calm spirits and clear minds for all of us so that we can represent Christ in the best way possible.
